HBO votes for "Granny D"

Published on August 17, 2007 04:30 PM

On Thursday, Variety reported that HBO bought the rights to a documentary about Doris "Granny D" Haddock.

For those who don't remember, "Granny D" first gained notoriety in 1999 when she walked across the country advocating for campaign finance "reform."

While "Granny D" may make for entertaining television, we wonder if HBO knows that Granny also blames 9/11 on America's refusal to enact more campaign finance "reform":

"Our struggle for campaign finance reform and other democratic reforms will now take a back seat as blood and its disciples have their day. But until we clean up our government, we will all be the targets of rising international rage, and our children and grandchildren are not safe."

With this in mind, CCP suggests a different group of citizen activists be the focus of an HBO documentary: The resident of Parker North, CO.
