Smith to testify at Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Citizens United

Center for Competitive Politics Chairman Bradley A. Smith will testify at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Wednesday on post-Citizens United campaign finance legislation.

The hearing, scheduled for 10 a.m. in Room 226 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building, will also feature testimony from Prof. Jeffrey Rosen of The George Washington University Law School and Doug Kendal, founder and president of the Constitutional Accountability Center.

Smith, a professor at Capital University Law School and former Federal Election Commission Chairman, will discuss the constitutional and policy flaws of a legislative framework on campaign finance introduced last month by Rep. Chris Van Hollen and Sen. Chuck Schumer at the hearing, “We the People? Corporate Spending in American Elections after Citizens United.”
